So far only a sprinkle or two.
After a breakfast of 2 small dried slices of a baguette I strolled through Condeixa.
After all the rain
The first patch of blue was startling.
I came to Coimbra searching for my hotel which turned out to be about a mile out on the other side of town. I left my baçkpack in the room (somehow a fitness room didn't seem appeaĺing) and walked back to town. My first task was to visit Portugal dos Pequintos, a museum for children that I remembered going to on my last visit here in 1989. Of course, my memory had me in the right direction but one street off, so I walked back and forth for another 2 miles or so. I hadn't remembered that it covered all of the Portuguese navigational feats as well as their discoveries (conquests).
Then I went up the hill to see all the sights, mostly churches with the new cathedral at the very highest.
So good to see your posts! I was beginning to wonder if you had given up on blogging. Wonderful to catch up on your adventures while in the Dallas airport last night. May you have a little more sunshine, less rain, and may Montezuma leave the pilgrimage well enough alone!
ReplyDeleteIt was great getting your Skype call. Hope you dry out and have better weather. TED
