When I started this morning I was not sure if I could walk a quarter of a mile. The tendon behind my knee felt about a half an inch shorter than usual (no knot). I limped; it hurt. Pain doesn't really make me cringe, but I have learned that there is a negative reaction somewhere; my body wants me to notice. After a half mile I could walk, after 5 miles I could go faster than 2 mph. At the end of the day I was at normal speed.
The weather was so refreshingly pleasant that everything looked picture worthy!
I am quitting after unsuccessfully trying for 20 minutes to load a photo. This tablet is toast.
(There are a lot of churchs)
I had made a reservation at Quinta dos Meireles. They said they would pick me up at the town square. The only frustration was trying to figure out where that was. I was picked up by the owner's daughter who drove me to see all the sights.the are taker at the Sra do Socorro even opened up the stairs (usually a once a year event) so I could get the view. If it really is a clear sky you can see the Atlantic Ocean from there.
The Quinta is an incredibly charming place. As are my hosts
All the land that you can see from the site belongs to my hosts who own the 2 major domestic products paper mills. Finally I know what the eucalyptus trees are used for!
Oh yes, I promised Bill the gps coordinates: N 040 42.232 W 08 27.480
